When you're in poor form, a home game against Watford might be seen as just what you need. However, perform badly in this one and form, along with confidence, could take quite a hit.
At the back, I am including the hapless Diop only on the basis of rumours that Zouma is injured - we'll see. At least we should have both first choice full-backs restored to the starting lineup. It almost goes without saying that Rice and Soucek start in midfield.
I don't know why Lanzini wasn't in the squad at Kidderminster, but he should return. Not that there's all that much to choose between him and Vlasic, but Lanzini gets the nod. Not much to choose either between Fornals and Benrahma.
Even though Antonio hasn't pulled up any trees lately, we missed his strength and presence in the cup game so it'll be good to have him back.

I'd play Alese over Diop. He honestly can't be any worse and has the added bonus of being left footed.
We know Diop is awful currently and as a pair him and Dawson just don't work.
Alese would have an experienced back line and keeper alongside him along with Rice and Soucek ahead. So he would have protection.
Pointless because we all know Moyes won't do it, but that would be my only change to the suggested line up if Zouma is fucked as suspected.

Totally agree, stepney. Getting rid of Diop while he's still worth seven figures should have been a priority in the window and the decision not to fork out the readies for Caleta-Car is already looking idiotic.

Diop who has looked fragile and shot of any self belief recently was just subbed at half time against a 6th tier team surely can't play Tuesday..

mind you watching the Burnley vs Watford game - both truly awful sides nothing other than 3 points will do against either of these, especially at home.

Moyes got something very wrong today - he tried to put faith in our second string and they were badly exposed. It laid bare to the world that we have very little strength in depth and some very expensive misfits.
Having said that, we are in two cups and 5th in the league tonight. Cant remember saying that too often. We have to have faith that we can take something from this season as we'e never had this good an opportunity.
Was just watching Burnley vs Watford and don't fancy going back to clogging 0-0 draws out in relegation scraps.

Interesting that several on here are calling for Alese over Diop. Moyes won't do it, but Diop is rapidly becoming a real problem for him. His performances seem to be getting steadily worse. Moyes almost certainly would like to shift him in the summer but if he drops him now in favour of a U23 player his value will plummet even lower than it has already fallen. Moyes and his team must be working with him and hoping he'll come good, but at what point do you give up?
